International cooperation, pedagogic development, democracy and focus on the individual are central values for us. We have given important contributions to development of Swedish education and training, for example evening gymnasiums, language centers, Swedish for immigrants, college and ICT-based education. Visions and ideas for better learning methods are developed and tested in project groups, often in international cooperation. School of Polish for Foreign Students at the University of Lodz

Studium Języka Polskiego dla Cudzoziemców Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego (The School of Polish for Foreign Students at the University of Lodz) was established in 1952. It is the oldest and the largest center in Poland where foreigners prepare themselves to live in Poland and where they learn Polish language to start a new period of their life which may be connected with professional, personal or other reasons. So far, around 20 000 learners from more than 100 countries have studied with us. Every year between 400 and 600 foreigners, as well as learners of Polish origin, participate in language courses organized at our center.

The School employs 35 experienced teachers professionally prepared to teach Polish language as a foreign language as well as other subjects (history, geography, biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, knowledge about Poland etc.) and skills needed for successful integration in the new social context . Among our teachers there are researchers, authors of textbooks and members of the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Languages.

All classes are offered on beginner's, intermediate and advanced level, according to the participants' needs. Language curriculum provides the participants with the opportunity to develop their skills of spoken and written Polish, as well as standard Polish and Polish for professional needs.

Moreover, the School offers many cultural activities to foreign participants which makes the place one of the most recognizable multicultural centers in Poland.

Base on this expertise during this project our institution will have activities with a target group selected from our foreign students which are looking for a job in Poland or which want to learn more about the culture of the international labour market.
